The 16 types are organised here by quadra — the primary grouping in Socionics. A quadra is a set of four types who share the same core values, the same dual pairs, and a broadly similar orientation toward life. Understanding which quadra a type belongs to tells you more about its social world than any single dichotomy can. Each quadra contains two dual pairs — the most complementary relation in the system.

Alpha Quadra

Curious, warm and egalitarian. Alpha types are drawn to ideas, comfort and open exchange — the quadra of discovery and good-natured debate.

The originator — futurist, challenger, endlessly curious about what could exist.

SEI

Warm, present and attuned — creating comfort and easing tension without drawing attention to it.

The natural host — energising groups, caring for individuals, bringing people together.

Beta Quadra

Passionate, hierarchical and driven by a vision of transformation. Beta types value willpower, artistic intensity and the courage to reshape the world around them.

Strategic, emotionally magnetic — moving people with apparent effortlessness toward a vision only they can fully see.

LSI

Reliable, exacting and quietly complex — holding systems and people to a high standard with calm authority.

SLE

Direct, instinctive and commanding — acting first, reading the room accurately and projecting confidence that others find hard to ignore.

Perceptive and timeless — living substantially in the inner world, approaching others with warmth and a quiet sense of what is coming.

Gamma Quadra

Pragmatic, ambitious and results-focused. Gamma types are drawn to efficiency, honest assessment and the tangible rewards of well-directed effort.

SEE

Present, energetic and naturally magnetic — living close to experience and making social ease look effortless.

ILI

Sees problems before the question is formed — carrying a long view of where things are heading and what is fundamentally flawed.

LIE

Achievement-oriented and strategically ruthless — seeing opportunity where others see obstacle and pursuing goals without sentimentality.

Delta Quadra
