Press & Media

For journalists, researchers, podcast hosts, or anyone writing about Socionics, personality systems, or the Socion app.

About the site

Socionics Insight is a free reference site covering classical Socionics — the 16 personality types, 8 cognitive functions, and 16 intertype relations developed by Lithuanian researcher Aushra Augusta in the 1970s.

The site launched in March 2026 and covers over 370 pages of structured reference content, including full type profiles, function descriptions, all 136 type-pair comparisons, and a type determination quiz. Content is grounded in original research conducted from 2007–2009 and has been revised, corrected, and expanded for this publication.

The site is one of the only active, comprehensive English-language Socionics references. Its primary competitors in the space — Wikisocion, Socionics.com, Sociotype.com — are either archived, effectively abandoned, or of disputed accuracy within the community.

About the Socion app

Socion is a Socionics-based matching platform launching in 2026. Unlike algorithmic matching products, Socion has an explicit, auditable theory underneath it — the intertype relations matrix — and gives users direct agency over which dynamic they are looking for.

The app launches with dating as the primary use case and is designed to expand to friendship, networking, and team building. The matching logic is open source.

About the author

Spencer Stern is an independent author and personality systems researcher based in the UK. He has been studying Socionics since the mid-2000s and built the original Definitive Socionics Index — a community reference archive — between 2007 and 2009. He is the author of the Socionics Made Simple series (16 volumes) and Your Social World Explained, and developed the SLIDE System, a modernised vocabulary layer built on Socionics foundations.
